THE TERRYS Release New Single ‘IDK’

Fresh from their signing to Domestic La La in December, rapidly-rising indie-surf act The Terrys are revealing their new single IDK today.

Packing many-a memorable, punchy and sing-along moments into just 3 minutes, IDK is classic Terrys fun with a hint of attitude. On the song, the band shares: “IDK pretty much speaks for itself. It’s about those triggers inside you that people can sometime set off and feels like a bit of a punch in the face. It’s a fun take on that, plus we wanted to release a fast song people can dance to at our shows after being cooped up for the last couple years.”

Out a year to the date since their acclaimed single Our Paradise – which recently came in at #76 in triple j’s Hottest 100 – IDK is The Terrys’ next leap towards becoming one of the biggest names in the country before too long.

“We don’t believe in coincidences,” declares the group. “It’s our first single of the year and our first single with a record label (shout out to Tidsy and rest of the lords at Domestic La La). We’re so excited to have new music out and have a team working it!”

Home to adored Australian rock acts including Dear Seattle and West Thebarton and fellow rising stars such as LOSERTeen Jesus and the Jean Teasers and Divers, Domestic La La is the label venture of Violent Soho guitarist James Tidswell.

The Terrys‘ love of homegrown music sees the band perfectly placed on their new label home. Naturally drawing inspiration from Australian artists such as The Bungalows, Pond and Skegss with a hint of British influence (think Will And The People and Jamie T), The Terrys’ secret sauce is an expert combo of hooky guitars, fast and furious drums, charismatic vocals and an equally charismatic live show.

Ever-close to their faithful and burgeoning following, The Terrys also put a competition out on socials for a fan to design the perfect single cover for the track. Check out the winning entry created by Josie Greig pictured below.
