PRAX Drops Sincere New Single ‘IDK’

In a surge of stormy energy, Brisbane-based genre-distorting PRAX has released his dark, alt-rap emo track IDK

A gust of guitars and distinctive hip-hop scratches drives PRAX’s notable emotive vocals as the track bursts into a unique and personal blend of moody hip-hop beats. IDK is a raw tale, written the day PRAX found out a close friend died. Faced with the fragility of life, he set out to write the song as a way to deal with the emotions of that agonizing experience. “Writing IDK was a very cathartic experience for me, I was faced with the dark reality of death & my own insecurities with love and life,” explains PRAX.

Along with the track, PRAX has released a visualiser. In one scene, black tears pour from PRAX’s eyes. While in another, time seems to lapse and distort as PRAX sings over and over “I don’t know / I don’t know“. Known for his visual storytelling, this dark clip highlights the dark, confusing and confronting nature of the tracks’ inspiration.

From his humble beginnings busking at the age of nine, PRAX now boasts collaborations with the likes of 916Frosty and BOY $COUT GATSBY as well as a Spotify catalogue with over 1.6 million streams. Previous releases from PRAX have also been supported on Spotify’s ‘sadboihours‘ and by tastemakers such as Cool Accidents and MILKY.

If PRAX’s previous releases are anything to go by, get ready to be blown away by IDK.
