BLOOM FESTIVAL Returns For A Huge Day Of Music At The Triffid

It’s time to celebrate the return of festivals in Brisbane and what better way to do it than with a free all-ages event!

Highlighting eight of Brisbane’s most sought after and emerging, young artists, Music Industry College is excited to announce the return of Bloom Festival 2021! Since 2018, Bloom Festival has showcased the incredible plethora of local talent both on stage and behind the scenes. The youth lead event, run by young people, for all ages, will commence on October 31st at The Triffid

Nerve

Bloom Festival has previously spanned across multiple venues in the heart of Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley over the course of multiple days, although since the recent pause of live music they are delivering a special, limited capacity return while supporting one of the cities most respected hubs of live music. Bloom Festival’s focus is about bringing the community together to celebrate the music and creative industries while introducing young people to live music in an inclusive, all ages, safe space.

All ages shows are critical to the continued vitality of the live music industry. By introducing young people to the live music experience, bands and venues can potentially tap into a future audience,” says Brett Wood, principal and founder of Music Industry College and Bloom Festival, whose staff and students collaborate with artists, venues and local press in developing and running the festival each year.

Due to strict licensing laws in Queensland there is a lack of AA events and Bloom Festival aims to address that by producing an event that is not only loaded with local talent but it’s free entry too.”

Kicking the festival into full swing is soulful songwriter bella amor and nostalgic power-pop outfit EchoWave. Live performances from eight artists will continue throughout the day showing no sign of slowing down as the nationally recognised rockers Concrete Surfers are set to captivate the crowd with their raw energy before final artist, Brisbane producer, rapper and songwriter Nerve headlines the festival. Nerve, proving himself to be one of the most successful independent hip hop artists in Australia right now, has had over 2 million streams in the past 12 months on Spotify alone. This huge lineup affirms just how talented, fresh and diverse Brisbane’s music industry is today.
