SAMETIME Unveil New EP ‘Maybe We Can Get High?’

SAMETIME are multi-instrumentalists Sunshine Coast brothers Tim and Sam Aitken. Today they release their new EP ‘Maybe We Can Get High?’ which sees the band embrace their love of infectious synth driven melodies, titillating lyrics and spicy pop vibes.

“We’re young male adults going through that phase of life where going out and getting “sloshed” every weekend is compulsory. ‘Maybe We Can Get High?’ tells of the ecstatic uppers and brutal downers of youthful hedonism. The EP is a self reflection of us but also our generation as we navigate our way through young adulthood but making sure we have a good time doing it.”SAMETIME

Sametime’s new EP will delight fans of Last Dinosaurs, The 1975 and The Jungle Giants. It was produced by Fletcher Matthews (Stumps, Blue Velvet, Raave Tapes, OK Hotel) in Sydney and mastered by Paul Blakey. The brothers wrote all the tracks from their hometown on the Sunshine Coast and worked out how to write and record music online via numerous Zoom meetings with Fletcher Matthews

Fletcher is incredible at giving songs an edge whilst keeping the energy right in the sweet spot. He has a great sound pallet and an awesome understanding of what makes a beat hit hard. He’s also a great songwriter and is almost mathematical in his approach which worked perfectly with us, since we’re on the other side of the process.”  SAMETIME

The EP features current single, Moving On, a dance floor-ready tune which has scored spins on Triple j’s Home and Hosed with Declan Byrne, Triple j Unearthed and confirmed EP support from various press outlets including Pilerats, The Music, Acid Stag, Scenestr, AAA Backstage. The band says, “Moving On is about a time in our lives where things got turned upside down in a blink of an eye due to a choice that a very close friend made”.  This track follows on from Get To Know Ya, a bright, upbeat song about just going out and meeting someone that makes you feel good temporarily” and Til Yr Not Ok plus infectious new tracks Something To Feel and Nothing I Can Change.
