BEDDY RAYS Release New Single + Video ‘Week On Repeat’

“… this band is the real deal.”

“… the Brisbane-based outfit have consistently one-upped themselves with feel-good indie/surf-rock”

“… thunderous drums, thrashing riffs and a distinct Aussie rock tinge.”

Following sold-out performances along the east coast in May, 2021 Levi’s Music Prize Winners and all-round legends, Beddy Rays release their chaotic new single Week On Repeat along with accompanying clip.

Laden with snarling guitar riffs, the rowdy singalong will leave listeners craving the festival mosh more than ever. Week on Repeat was produced and engineered by Brock Weston (of Bugs). “The track follows the feeling of rolling through another working week while trying to break the norms of the plain and mundane. It’s about trying to unlearn the mistakes that have got you stuck in the day-to-day rut and figuring out the best way to change it” says frontman Jacko of the track.

Shot in the boys’ Brisbane neighbourhood, the music video captures the band living like it’s groundhog day whilst making fools of themselves in true Beddy’s fashion.

Lewy (lead guitar) talks about their time on set saying, “We got the inspiration for the clip from the movie Groundhog Day, we thought it really captured the concept of the song and doing the same thing week after week – wake up for work, brush your teeth, drink your Milo, then repeat – until the weekend. Filming it was an absolute hoot! One of our mates came up with the rough idea and we just had a lot of fun with the ridiculousness of it all”.

It was a top start to the year for the four young tradies, having kicked it off with a sweet Hottest 100 placement (#57 for ‘Sobercoaster‘) which is now smashing over two million streams on Spotify alone. There’s no doubt these happy-go-lucky larrikins are quickly becoming one of Australia’s most adored groups and Week On Repeat is the perfect example of why.

The four band members — Jacko, Lewy, Brad, and Benny — met as young children on the primary school oval. Since then the band have been finalists for both the upcoming National Indigenous Music Awards and Queensland Music Awards held earlier this year. They’ve toured all over the country and won people over with their humble personalities and knack for knowing how to have a bloody good time.

Unforgettable hooks, punchy drums, in-your-face riffs and jump-around party vibes are all key to a classic Beddy Rays tune. Combine that with big grins and everlasting mateship and you’ve got yourself a four-piece destined to always hold a place in fans’ hearts.
