SHAG ROCK Announce Additional Shows + ‘Tivoli Live’ Video

“Purveyors in fine indie-rock with a distinct groove-filled bite, keeping things laid back and relaxed as they unite happy-go-lucky guitar strums with earworming vocal hooks.”
– Pilerats

“The type of rock that has your head spinning by the end as you come down from the invigorating highs.”
– Declan Byrne, triple j

Shag Rock today announce two additional Brisbane dates (including an U18 show) and an extra Melbourne show for their upcoming National tour to celebrate double album ‘Double Overhead’. With two shows on the run already sold out and many others selling fast, the band also disclose the details of the artists who will open and support in each city.

Since the release of final album single Blur a few weeks ago, Shag Rock have enjoyed additions to Spotify playlists including New Music Friday AU/NZ and India, Rock Out, Indie Arrivals, and Local Noise as well as multiple four-star reviews on triple j Unearthed. Also releasing a live video from their sold-out show at The Tivoli earlier this year, it’s clear this band are building some hype, recently clocking over 40 million streams across their catalogue.

Working with long-time friend and producer Ian Haug (Powderfinger, The Church) and signed to his label Airlock RecordsShag Rock have completed their most ambitious project to date, ‘Double Overhead’ to be released on Friday 9 July. With around 50 songs written in its initial draft from as far back as 2015, the album is a collection of moments and timepieces in the band’s life. ‘Double Overhead’ is a life journey exploring the rollercoaster of heartbreaks, little heart shakes, bliss and miss, with everything in between. Vocalist and Guitarist Jacob Reed explains that the album “explores mental health, which hopefully encourages people to be in touch with their feelings, chat to their mates and normalise being emotionally vulnerable – it’s ok to feel.”

Since the release of their debut album ‘Barefoot’ in 2017, Shag Rock have toured the US and have multiple sold-out shows under their belt as well as supporting powerhouses Ocean Alley, Lime Cordiale and The Rubens. Joining them on their huge upcoming national run are Brisbane’s The Bluebottles and Kurilpa Reach as well as party starters Thunderfox, Willowbank Grove, Echowave, Big Dinner, Rum Jungle and more. If Shag Rock’s previous sold-out Australia and New Zealand tours are any indication, fans are encouraged to move quick before the rest of the tour sells out.

SHAG ROCK Double Overhead (ALBUM) Out Friday July 9th.
