Nerve has shared his feverishly anticipated new EP, ‘Tall Poppy Season’, and his latest music video for WALK & TALK 4LISTEN & WATCH HERE.

For the Meanjin/Brisbane-based rapper, ‘Tall Poppy Season’ comes after years spent dominating Australia’s underground rap/grime scenes, performing at festivals nationwide, and collaborating with international heavy-hitters like Aitch. Including the previously released ONE IN A MILLION featuring JK-47MISSED CALLS and recent hit MIGRAINES, Nerve bridges his preference for assertive bars with his ear for infectious pop melodies into his most accomplished and versatile effort yet. ‘Tall Poppy Season’ flexes his production chops with beats that bring you from the club to the bedroom, while lyrically touching on his vulnerability and uncertainty as a young artist.

Of the release, Nerve shares “I really branched out on Tall Poppy Season; the bars, the beats, the melodies, the collaborations. Everything feels fresh, while culminating all the sounds I’ve experimented with throughout my whole career. It’s a cathartic and emotional release for me, and I know the fans will also get what they are searching for. The live shows for this project will be chaotic in the best way possible… Tall Poppies never die!”

Nerve stretches both his vocal and production ranges higher than ever before on ‘Tall Poppy Season’. As previously teased on MISSED CALLS, BABY STOP RUNNING YOUR MOUTH features his first out and out melodic R&B ballad, extended also on the light flamenco infused WHO THAT? (NOT ME); WALK & TALK PT 4 sees classic jazzy hip hop remixed with a 2021 lens and a guest verse from NOKZ78; while LOVE NO1 is pure chaos, transforming a Jaws inspired beat into an electrifying hardcore rap track complete with doom metal guitar lines; closing the EP is bonus track TALL POPPIES NEVER DIE. ‘Tall Poppy Season’ is a journey through doubt and belief, featuring Nerve as his most open and honest as he chronicles how he made it through to the other side.

Next month Nerve will be embarking on his most extensive Australian tour yet, with tickets on sale now. His hyperactive live shows have earned him slots at mainstay events like Listen Out and Falls Festival and his DIY-style performances have left every fan sweat-drenched and satisfied.
