Brisbane’s rising alt-indie act, Yb. returns today to share his infectious and carefree new single, Dance With Me Today.
A grungy guitar riff opens the three-minute bop, as your mind and soul are transported to an airy world of uplifting and unrestrained fun. Yb.’s spoken word in a lower register slots within the clicking tap of percussion, as he invites you to keep in pace to the disco-led rhythm. Teaming up with producer Charlie Hole (aka Thomas Porter), Dance With Me Today is best soundtracked to free and easy days or nights spent with your nearest and dearest.
Yb. says of the track: “Dance With Me Today is all about that introspective voice in charge of letting things go. For me, that action was one of the hardest things to grasp, but this song is a true encapsulation of the moment that I was able to find a release from some of the difficulties and anxieties I’ve felt.”
Today’s release arrives in succession to Waiting, Yb.’s previous single which received admiration from the likes of Purple Sneakers, NME, Life Without Andy, community radio and triple j Unearthed. Prior, he has a bevvy of singles under his belt, in Stay feat. SVW, Don’t Crash and the triple j Unearthed premiered Indecisive. After a recent sell-out performance at Brisbane’s Black Bear Lodge, the young artist is on the bubble up with over a million streams to his name. Already having co-signs with Dangermouse, Snakehips and UK star Tom Misch, plus co-writes with the likes of Winston Surfshirt, Stevan and Touch Sensitive on the horizon, predict that Yb.’s talent for spanning genres of funk, rap, gospel and afro beats will have him at the forefront of many minds to come.
Don’t miss pressing play on the talented and fun-loving sounds of Dance With Me Today, as Brisbane’s Yb. encourages you to move in time to its undeniable groove.
