BELLE HAVEN Share New Single ‘Take Your Pill’

Melbourne alternative rockers, Belle Haven, have returned to share Take Your Pill, the second single from forthcoming EP ‘Time Changes Nothing’ being released through Greyscale Records on Friday April 16.

The new single is mixed, mastered, produced and engineered by Belle Haven‘s Christopher Vernon  with additional drum engineering by Declan White and programming by Callan Orr and Thomas Mitchell. Take Your Pill follows on where Nobody Likes A Hospital left off with nostalgic throwbacks throughout and an honest lyrical foundation. The track narrates vocalist David De La Hoz struggle with mental health and his experience with electromagnetic treatment.

In mid-2018 I was admitted to hospital to undergo a form of psychiatric treatment that involved regularly pumping an electromagnetic pulse through a part of my brain over the course of my stay.” explains De La Hoz. “I remember I began writing this song around two weeks into that treatment. Nothing felt better. In fact, it felt worse. I felt no joy. No excitement. No love.

A few weeks ago Nobody’s Likes A Hospital was welcomed into the world by a hungry audience and has received a number of rave reviews since:

With powerful guitars and hard-hitting lyrics, the band speak on depression and mental illness the best way they know how. Raging screams are scattered between the verses as the band play through intricate progressions and rhythms
Alternative Press

“…emotionally-wrought melodic metalcore earworm…”
Music Feeds

“…unsettling and full from the start, with (satisfying) wild winds of riffage.”

… chaotic instrumentals of furious drum fills and pounding low-string riffs … and some soft keys to add to the songs desperate and despondent theme and mood.
