One of Brisbane’s most exciting and much-loved punk rock bands, The Black Catapult are back with their new live album ‘Live In Isolation’, including a brand new track Hey I’m A Punk Dude.
A band with a larger-than-life stage presence and a level of genuine audience interaction that’s rarely seen, The Black Catapult live off the energy gained from playing live. So, what to do during a global pandemic, when gigs come to a halt? Like most bands, they moved online, partaking in the live streamed concert ‘Global Bandemic’, in May 2020.
The live set, streamed from Brisbane’s Red Star Studios, was professionally recorded, and has now been mixed and mastered for release as the band’s first live recording. Including the new single Hey I’m A Punk Dude – a super catchy pop punk tune that had already become a favourite at live shows, as well as a selection of favourites from the band’s last two albums, ‘Live In Isolation’ showcases the band in their prime, doing what they do best.
The band’s bassist Ryan Pedlow says “We had so much fun recording this live gig, especially at a time when we weren’t able to get out and play in front of others. And after, we had this amazing quality recording of us doing what we do best, so of course we wanted to share it with our fans”.
To support the release, The Black Catapult are playing their first live show in seven months, at Brisbane’s King Lear’s Throne, on March 6th. Details Here.
