“Multi-talented newcomer Burning Jacobs Ladder delivers a strong debut”(Music Is My Muse)
It was only in December when the alternative/ psych-rock artist, Burning Jacobs Ladder (Jake Johnson), released his debut single Danger In Me. Last month Johnson followed that up with a mellowed out, gritty track called Seventh Fever Of The Mind and is now releasing his debut EP, ‘EP/1’, today (February 12th).
Throughout the psychedelic, experimental blues-rock EP, Johnson touches on wanting more from life, believing there is more to experience and tells deeply personal stories about metal health, escapism, and anxiety.
Opening the EP is the debut single, Danger In Me is a fuzz-driven, high-gained track that struts along confidently.
Dystopian Blues follows and as the title suggests is a dark track that is coated in overdriven electric guitars with sections of dipping dynamics that dive into a deep husky delivery from Johnson followed by upbeat and explosive blues-rock.
Seventh Fever Of The Mind with it’s wild-western feel comes in before Seeking The Light – a slow grooving psychedelic/ experimental, six and a half minute epic journey.
With the foot of the gas the acoustic track Cleanse The Soul closes the EP, telling a deeply personal story about Johnson‘s friend who tried to take their life.
Burning Jacobs Ladder‘s previous releases have seen support from the likes of The Music, AAA Backstage, Australian Music Scene, Music Is My Muse and community radio stations around Australia.
This diverse, psych-rock/ experimental EP ‘EP/1’ is out TODAY!
