“…this track sounds like a bloody ray of sunshine! So warm and radiant. Great to hear from you again.”
Triple J, Bridget Hustwaite (‘Storm Boy’)
“Ben Wright Smith is an artist you need to name as one of your favourites immediately.”
“…a hazy jam filled with euphoric vibes that would perfectly soundtrack a road trip to the beach.”
The Music (‘Tomorrow Never Comes’)
“The result is a diverse collection of indie-folk jams that flirt with the poppier side of the occasion, that serves as a fantastic body of work.”

As a New Year promises more new music for Ben Wright Smith fans, the songwriter and musician is getting things started with the announcement of his ‘Echo Lodge’ album release and from it, a brand new single in New Breeze.
For those who have been following Ben’s journey across his last three years of releases, the release of ‘Echo Lodge’ is a timely one: the final instalment of a trilogy of releases that kicked off in 2018 with the ‘Psychotropical’ EP.
Here, Ben presents material featured on that initial EP, as well as 2020’s ‘Volcano God Head Explodes’ EP on one comprehensive record with three additional treats proving that new music has never been far from the artist’s mind.
With New Breeze, Ben channels more rich strength in his vocals and arrangements. Recorded at Melbourne’s Soundpark Studios, mixed by Ben himself and David Turner (Dan Sultan, Amy Shark), before being mastered by Joe Carra (King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, POND), this new hit of Ben Wright Smith goodness is the perfect addition to any hazy summer chill playlist.
Another track wrapped in warmth and almost hypnotic tones, New Breeze is classic Ben Wright Smith: endearing and captivating, all in one.
“When I wrote ‘New Breeze’, I was thinking of making a simple folk song. We somehow ended up with a spooky sci-fi space waltz.” Ben Wright Smith
