“Some off beat disco scenes from Barley Passable who will have more than a few people lost in their sound”
– Declan Byrne [triple j unearthed]
“This is giving Kooks energy. The jangle in the guitar gives it shine and I love that bright synth. Makes you wanna boogie!” – Claire Mooney [triple j unearthed]
“Disco guitar and sputtering funk synths give this new school pop band a real spring in its step.”
– Dave Ruby Howe [triple j unearthed]
Sydney-based duo Barley Passable are delighted to announce their debut EP ‘Hindsight’ today. Set for release on 3 March, ‘Hindsight’ features the already released Step Inside as well as new single Turnaround, out everywhere today. The pairs distinct vocals combine with a scintillating synth to produce yet another irresistible tune ready to soundtrack a return to the dance floor.
Of the release, they share: “We are so excited to announce our EP Hindsight, out March 3rd. A year in the making, all made for you.”
Influenced by French Disco and Euro Pop, Kai Ollman and Davy Brown formed Barley Passable in early 2019 through a joint distaste of their studies. After spending much of the year writing, they shared their promising debut single All I Have in early 2020. The track was followed by a string of impressive releases over the year with their two recent tracks Whether Or Not and Step Inside both scoring praise from a number of triple j tastemakers on Unearthed.
Turnaround by Barley Passable is out now!
