Following a string of singles across 2020, Melbourne’s Fancy Face are proud to unveil their highly-anticipated debut EP ‘He Said, He Said’. The new release sees the arrival of the brand new single Are You With Us, a grungier taste of Fancy Face’s sunny brand of indie rock.
As the first extended release from the Melbourne quintet, Fancy Face’s ‘He Said, He Said’ sees the band showcase the sound that listeners have come to know and love across local and international radio and media. The EP offers their no holds barred and genuine approach to crafting lively indie rock music.
“This EP – ‘He Said, He Said’ – is pretty special to us for many reasons,” says lead vocalist and guitarist Aaron Bach. “This band and the material came about in such a cool way. I think we are all pretty stoked on what the end result has been. Putting a whole new bunch of material into the world can be a pretty daunting thing and we just feel so grateful that it’s been received with open arms.”
“Lyrically, this EP was about me trying to deal with the frustrations, confusion and regrets of a past time. Things can change so fast and sometimes even before you realise it, you find yourself somewhere else. So, sitting down and writing about it all and reflecting has really given me the chance to to deal with everything. Music really does make a difference!”
‘He Said, He Said’ was produced by Alex Markwell of The Delta Riggs.

Fancy Face is a brand-new indie rock outfit emerging out of Melbourne. Influenced by the smooth criminals of the alternative/indie rock world – Dope Lemon, The Murlocs and many more – the five piece is setting out to make some new friends with their groovy new tunes.
Forming in 2019, Fancy Face were united by their mission of writing relatable music and fostering a fun community where people can come to a show and enjoy some good tunes.
As Aaron Bach (vocals) and Alex Zielke (drums/back up vocals) were joined by Shaun (keys), Julia (guitar), and Alex (bass), Fancy Face began working on new material and the band found their sonic home right under their debut single Slip Up, released in March 2020. Hot on the heels of their debut Fancy Face took to the stage of The Tote Hotel, Melbourne for a four-date residency.
Slip Up was followed by singles Just You Wait and Things Are Getting Better, which earned spins on triple J’s Home and Hosed and attention from radio and media across the globe.
With the arrival of the debut EP ‘He Said He Said’ Fancy Face are set to continue working on their mission of making music that gets people up and moving and providing the perfect escape.
“Melbourne’s own indie-rock quintet Fancy Face are unleashing their retro-tinged, third single ‘Things Are Getting Better’, and it’s definitely worth the listen” – Tone Deaf
“There’s no doubts about these guys mashing some classic rock n roll sounds with a 60s pop filter on [‘Things Are Getting Better’].” –Declan Byrne, triple j
“The good times just keep on coming thanks to Melbourne’s Fancy Face. ‘Just You Wait’ might only be their second single, but you bet they’ve already burrowed into our hearts, and our high rotation daily listening queues”
