“aptly addictive and without the side effects”triple j

“Sycco is an infectious dose of sonic sunshine”Ones To Watch

Rising 18 year old singer/songwriter/producer Sycco {pron. ‘psycho’} today shares a punchy new remix of Dribble featuring New York’s RIZ LA VIE via WILDER Records (Future Classic/Tom Windishsingles label). Listen HERE.

The new Dribble remix accentuates the out-of-time quality of Sycco’s original, introducing notes of hip hop to her wistful, vibrant combination of indie rock, psychedelia, and neo-soul. With the heightened production, new elements of Sycco’s songwriting are allowed to come into focus, honing in on the track’s crunchy, staccato guitars, dynamic synth chords, and crisp, mid-tempo percussion, adding a renewed bite and a touch of grittiness to the lush and sun-drenched original. Atop Sycco’s arrangement, the gravelly blues of RIZ LA VIE’s croon, and his sputtering flow prove to be the perfect counterpoint to the track’s tight instrumental interplay and climactic guitar solo.

Of the new remix, RIZ LA VIE shares: “The song is a lot about the subconscious, the things that we do, feel or notice while we’re not even really thinking, or even while we’re asleep. And the significance or insignificance of those things. The things we let slip.”

Sycco adds: “Having Riz on to feature with Dribble was so sick, he has the most amazing voice and he honestly made Dribble sound so cool. The adlibs he did absolutely blew me away, I feel super honoured to be able to share this song with him!!”

Following Nicotine, Dribble is the latest in a string of consistently impressive singles that have won the 18-year-old artist praise from Billboard, NME Australia, triple j, Lyrical Lemonade, Ones to Watch, and more. Featured in this year’s TheBIGSOUND50 and having graced the covers of both Spotify Australia’s New Music Friday and the popular Front Left playlists, as well as being named Apple Music’s New Artist of the Week, Sycco is quickly establishing herself as one of Australia’s most promising new artists.

You can also catch Sycco live for Home School on November 10th, the virtual concerts spun off from beloved LA showcase series, School Night. Sycco is also heading to Byron for Great Southern Nights, playing a show at The Northern, on 26 November – tickets available here.
