PREMIERE: PURPLEZAIN Releases New Music Video For ‘I Need U’ Feat. JJ SPEEDBALL

Today, PurpleZain releases his new new music video for his latest single – I Need U featuring JJ Speedball.

The new single is PZ’s second T-Pop release for the year following Monster featuring The Silencio in May. T-Pop is PurpleZain’s take on Korean Pop Music hits with reworked English lyrics mainly focusing on his home of Tweed Heads (thus T-Pop = Tweed Pop).

The song features long term collaborator Jodie Maloney and also drafts in legendary Brisbane, cherry rock icon JJ Speedball sharing vocal duties. JJ is one of QLD’s most enduring underground artists who has toured nationally and internationally several times with his bands Scrum Feeder, Shandy, as well as under his solo moniker.

I Need U was first released by Korean boy band BTS. The song and film clip portrayed the emotional ups and downs of transitioning from a teenager into a young adult. To maximise his tribute, PurpleZain re-shot the original film clip scene for scene, but utilised an all female cast to replace the original male band members, reminiscent of Ghostbusters (2016) and Oceans 8. Although I Need U is a pop song the clip involves; domestic violence, overdoses, gang bashings, pyromania, prostitution, and murder/suicide, not your usual pop music fare.

PurpleZain will be performing his new singles I Need U and Monster at Mo’s Desert Club House October 3, supported by his friends JJ Speedball, The Silencio, and others.

“Riveting action drama, cutting edge sounds, the latest T-Pop addition delivers as demanded. It’s an honour and a heap of fun to work with PurpleZain. Tweed Pride World Wide!” JJ Speedball

“JJ is a punk rock legend with no pretentiousness and is pumped on everything he does. He jumped at the chance to record an electro/pop power ballad with me and I love that about him”  – PurpleZain
