Parker Sounds is a pop-rock band from the Gold Coast, drawing from influences such as Jack Johnson, The Killers, and Pearl Jam. With the band having the ability to write simple, catchy tracks, there are then transformed by the band’s powerful vocals, happy-go-lucky keys and tasty guitar licks. The band have had a huge year so far, amassing over 40,000 Spotify streams on their debut single Something Heavy, and following up with the huge hitting track Prison Cell.
Since securing a grant with the Scenic Rim Regional Council to record their debut album and “get ideas out from the notebook and into the world”, the momentum is sure to continue throughout the year for this exciting band with the release of third single Discoface. The band explains “the track is primarily about getting loose and rocking out. We wanted a fun, upbeat rock song with interesting but straight forward lyrics to get people in the mood and rocking out. As with the previous two singles, Discoface is produced primarily by Josh Beattie though as his studio is currently being rebuilt, we tracked drums in our drummers garage, vocals at QSound studios on the Gold Coast and guitars and keys in Josh’s’ lounge room. Josh then got to work with the finishing touches before sending it off for mastering.”
Produced by up and coming Gold Coast producer Josh Beattie, Discoface provides plenty of energy to the band’s live set, with a launch show booked in for 3rd September at Nightcap, Nobby’s Beach. The band’s lead singer fell in love with music at age 15 and had been performing covers in the local Gold Coast scene for years, coming into his own with the formation of Parker Sounds. With a gifted vocal and songwriting ability, the band is one to keep an eye on!
