Brisbane four piece, THE AUTOMATON are more than just a band, they are a movement. A musical movement of dark, blues soaked groove rock with psychedelic tinges that sits deep in your chest like that feeling you get when the person you love enters the room. They’ll make you feel warm, fuzzed up and joyous. Today, they unveil their long awaited debut single, Receiver and the world should be more than ready to receive what these talented souls are ready to deliver.

Receiver was recorded at the prestigious Airlock Studios, owned by the legendary Ian Haug (Powderfinger, The Church). The track was mixed by Steve Kempnich and mastered by Samuel Jones.  This is the first glimmer into the multicoloured, mood altering explosion that is THE AUTOMATON in full swing.

“Receiver is a blues-soaked acid trip into the ether of creative abandon. Exploring interconnectedness, Receiver dives into the circular motion of creator, to creation, to receiver and back.”

THE AUTOMATON are a band with a ‘hypnotic odyssey’ approach to musical composition. Formed in 2019 by four creative souls from multiple bands in Brisbane, Australia, they debuted at the annual Wallapalooza Festival on the Gold Coast and since then have found themselves with a following of fans, eagerly awaiting their every move.
