PREMIERE: TOM MYERS Releases Live Video For Single ‘The Great Unknown’

Today, Tom Myers, previously known for his work with the iconic Australian band Papa vs Pretty releases a live video for his debut single The Great Unknown.

Filmed at Golden Retriever Studios in Marrickville the live video features Myers on lead vocals accompanied by Ball Park Music’s Jen Boyce, Gus Gardiner (Papa vs. Pretty) on piano and Alex Bennison on Guitar and was edited by Dean Hanson.

Of the video Myers writes: “For many, this is the first taste of what to expect live. I haven’t really done many shows under my own name, let alone out the front and leading the band! In saying that, I was totally comfortable in the room at Golden Retriever with 3 of my closest and most accomplished musician buddies Alex, Gus, and Jen.

I can’t wait to be able to play it all live, in front of a crowd, but hopefully this short example will tide us all over till I can!”

You can watch the video here:

Released earlier last month The Great Unknown was a track writer by Myers, a drummer by trade after he was compelled to share his experiences with grief and heartbreak in new ways and to step out from behind the kit and explore other avenues of his musicality.

The Great Unknown parallels with feelings of helplessness and grief echoed throughout the world given the current global climate

Tom Myers has been working in the Aus Music industry for over 10 years, and has toured extensively throughout his session career. Getting his start as drummer and founding member of Sydney rock band Papa vs Pretty and lending his talents post-papa working in live bands for Jack River, Thelma Plum, Kim Churchill and Dean Lewis. Citing influences such as Radiohead and Rufus Wainwright, whilst maintaining the honesty and intensity of Elliot Smith.
