Sycco’s remarkable sound is growing into something quite spectacular. If you believe in fate or not, we’re sure you’ll agree that Sycco is bound to have a successful career ahead of her.” – CLOUT

“…there’s no doubt the 18 year old will be having plenty more ‘pinch herself’ moments for years to come.” – triple j

“When 18-year-old Brisbane musician Sycco shared Peacemaker at the tail-end of last year, it felt like we were watching a future superstar be born. Peacemaker was a benchmark-raising new level for Sycco that encapsulated why she’s such an incredible musician worth watching this year – a disco-reminiscent production – one of the year’s best – the perfect underlay for one of the year’s catchiest choruses. It was damn good.” Pilerats Future Stars: Introducing 20 artists to watch in 2020

Freshly minted triple j Unearthed Level Up Grant recipient and rising singer/songwriter/producer Sycco {pron. ‘psycho’} today shares punchy new single and video, Dribble, via WILDER (Future Classic and Tom Windish’s singles label). Listen and watch HERE

Having premiered on triple j yesterday, Dribble marries vibrant indie-rock sensibilities and groove-tinged disco production with Sycco’s smokey neo-soul-leaning vocals. Lush in detail, irresistible, and with a bit of out-of-time charm, Sycco pulls each of these styles together with a wistful ease. Directed by Madeline Randall and Summer King, the Dribble music video compliments the track’s edge with its DIY aesthetic, threading together a series of fanciful shots that move from the sun-drenched and colourful to the surreal and off-kilter.

Of the track, Sycco shares, “This track was written in four hours. [Producer] Ed and I were tired and hungover, which maybe explains why it sounds a little dark. The guitar synth was added at the last minute but I can’t imagine the song without it now“.

Following NicotineDribble is the latest in a string of consistently impressive singles that have won the 18-year-old artist praise from NMEOnes to Watch and triple j. Receiving placement on Spotify Australia’s New Music Friday and gracing the cover of the popular Front Left playlist, as well as being named Apple Music’s New Artist of the Week, Sycco is quickly establishing herself as one of Australia’s most promising new artists.
