Brisbane rockers, TINY CASTLE, released their much anticipated debut EP ‘Perspectives’ today, following a series of well received singles, resulting in a highly commended at the Queensland Music Awards, play on Triple J Unearthed and a number of sold out shows.
“As the years pass by, youthful games are replaced with serious decisions. Decisions that do not always result in prosperity in every area of life. To move forward, we often shed parts of ourselves, saying a dark goodbye to make room for a new hello. ‘Perspectives’ explores what happens when young love succumbs to the desires of those who don’t follow the rules. Those who choose to run away together – losing a part of themselves in the process.”
The feature track Black Dove explores love you remember but never had, reflecting fondly on the years that passed by so quickly, that we all want to return to when we age. Tiny Castle’s synth collection features heavily in the EP, rehashing the guitar and synth union of yesteryear. Drawing inspirations from Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty and INXS, the single releases a sense of nostalgia and dreaminess. With a sound that could be placed within any of the last five decades, TINY CASTLE emulates and represents youth, regardless of age.
Slip into something comfy, grab a drink and lose yourself in Tiny Castle’s Debut EP, ‘Perspectives’.
