FEELSCLUB Unveil New Single ‘talkTALK’

Formerly making their mark in the indie pop scene, Brisbane genre chameleons FeelsClub are today thrilled to showcase a revitalised sound with their new single talkTALK. The single is the band’s first step into the realm of dark electronic pop, and the first release from a forthcoming extended release due out later this year.

“In short, this song is about every hard conversation you’ve ever had with someone you love, whose opinion disgusts you,” says frontman St Jonnie. “Growing up with someone as a hero in your mind, believing who you are is because of what they set as an example, and them then saying some fucking cooked shit.”

talkTALK was started on the band’s 2019 tour throughout Japan, and was completed in St Jonnie’s dungeon studio with mixing and mastering by Alex L’Estrange
The change in direction comes after a fruitful last twelve months which has seen FeelsClub dominate festival stages at Yonder, Woodford, and Jungle Love, plus an at-capacity appearance at Mountain Goat Valley Crawl earlier this year. Coupled with shows alongside Client Liaison, Confidence Man, Ivey, and Miami Horror, the now-quartet are ready to show the world a genuine reinvention.

One of Brisbane’s best kept secrets, FeelsClub have been journeying their way up from mates’ house parties, right through to selling out headline shows and sharing the stage with fellow Brissy dance accomplices The Jungle Giants and Confidence Man, as well as Aussie favourites Client Liaison.

FeelsClub unleash havoc in the form of dancey trash pop; a dark and relentless escape that will keep your heart and your feet moving through driving synths, dancey beats and vocal lines that give you the confidence to wear your heart on your sleeve. They’re a neon dystopian daydream where the intricacies of life are irrelevant, the scars are real and the jawns are fake.

In 2019, the band were lucky enough to travel to Japan and perform shows in Tokyo and were invited to feature in a photoshoot / video segment by Universal Store. Their Japan trip sort of acted as a catalyst, fast tracking what was already in motion; a feel for a new wave of FeelsClub.

FeelsClub’s true sound was bookmarked in 2020 with their release SUB.ALT.GEN 01. A clear evolution as their artistic vision developed over the years and will be showcased on their upcoming EP ‘A Wave Inevitable’. In a period of life where connection is so important, FeelsClub are finding new ways to engage with their listeners. Their first release off the EP talkTALK acts as the introduction to this new wave of FeelsClub. First impressions matter most after all, well, until the next thing comes along, then everything changes and we don’t care about that anymore.
