GAUDION Announces New Single + Video ‘i m u’ + Livestream Performance

Fresh on the Australian music scene Gaudion has today announced yet another new single i m u. A contemporary pop classic written in a time of change and loss, out today May 27. The song embeds an incredible contrast of lyrics and melody creating such a beautiful, energetic and easy listening track. Gaudion has also revealed a stunning, tuneful video to accompany the track, made with help from the comfort of his own home. In light of COVID-19, Gaudion is unable to perform regular gigs – so to celebrate the release of i m u he has announced an Instagram livestream performance on June 3 at 8 pm AEST.

i m u is one for the radio lovers and fans of Australian pop songwriting. Reminiscent of international artists Lauv, Ed Sheeran and Dean Lewis, i m u would be the track at the top of every road trip playlist, the kind of song that car stereos couldn’t be loud enough for. Catchy and heartwarming, this song features an abundance of modern sounds with Gaudion’s beautiful vocal performance cutting right through. The tracks true meaning is obviously one close to Gaudion’s heart, as he explains, i m u is a song that brought transverse rays of light through a dark room of my emotions. It follows the ongoing happy and uplifting trend in my music, where I aim to really bring the best out of any situation, no matter how hard it is. It’s really about acceptance and taking responsibility for what goes on inside.”

Due to the global pandemic of COVID-19, Gaudion has been unable to take part in his favourite aspect of being a musician, being the performance side. In order to survive in these times, Gaudion has taken to the internet with multiple livestreams to stay engaged with his fans, he explains “It’s been quite an odd transition really. I went from playing on the streets and in pubs every day, to now hustling on every platform I can through livestreams. I feel for everyone in our industry and who really knows what the carry over affects of all this are going to be. All I know is I love performing and i’ll do it anywhere I can. I’m so excited for the online single launch for this songon Instagram.

On a more personal note, Gaudion has found himself back at his parents house in rural NSW over the duration of the pandemic, as he says, “Moving back with my parents has be my saviour throughout this pandemic. Hillston is a small town of about 1000 people right out in the sticks, 700km directly west of Sydney give or take. It’s funny but great to be back here, i’ve been helping out around the farm where I can, as well as working on a lot of new music. I haven’t really lived here since I was 14, I kinda forgot how much I love the country.”

i m u is out now.
