Amy Shark + Tones and I + Sophie Monk Amongst Special Guests for 2020 Virtual Gold Coast Music Awards Presentation

The Gold Coast Music Awards lives up to its stellar reputation with Amy Shark, Tones and I and Sophie Monk amongst special guests to appear in its 2020 virtual presentation, which premieres on Facebook at 7pm on Thursday, 30 April.

Foregoing the beachfront fanfare of previous years due to COVID-19, the Awards are committed to celebrating the City’s creative gold with a professional video presentation packed with special messages, lounge room performances and of course, winner announcements.

Gold Coast Music Awards director, Chloe Popa, said, “The willingness of the artists and music industry at large to  jump on board and make this version of the Awards as awesome as possible has been really heartwarming.

“To move from a massive beachfront event to an online one that still has some wow factor has been a big challenge in these difficult circumstances, and thanks to a dedicated team and the generosity of Gold Coast artists and legends like Amy, Tones and Sophie, I believe we’ve done it!”

From the safety and comfort of their respective couches, 31 Gold Coast acts, their friends, family and fans will be tuning in to see if they’ve won a coveted ‘Skull Murphy’ trophy, including Hussy Hicks, who’ve topped the noms with five potential gongs, country music star Casey Barnes, cool indie kids, IVEY and folk streaming sensation, Hollow Coves.

Showing once again the Gold Coast is a hotspot for musical talent, PACES, Bombs Away, Busby Marou, San Mei, Eliza and the Delusionals, Ella Fence, DVNA and more are also in for the win on Thursday night.

Free for all to join, watch the award-winning action on Thursday 30 April at 7pm on the Gold Coast Music Awards Facebook page.

The Gold Coast Music Awards is proudly supported by City of Gold Coast and Surfers Paradise Alliance.
