“Fragile Animals are undoubtedly a unique band whose music stays with you long after you’ve stopped listening” – Tone Deaf
After releasing their latest sample of indie-rock infused shoegaze, Fragile Animals today unveil the Only Until It’s Over music video, a striking visual accompaniment to the single. The retrograde clip was written and directed by Timothy N. Heinrich, who also produced and edited the video, alongside cinematographer Jordan Kaye.
The trio’s latest offering saw them embrace a new approach to writing, as vocalist and guitarist Victoria Jenkins explains:
“This song was written a little differently for us. Normally the music is pretty established before I start bringing in vocal ideas but for this one, I came up with the chorus vocal before we actually had the music for it. I think I’d heard Daniel working on the music of the verse and I just dived in and got a bit carried away.”
“Lyrically the song is about that something, and you can’t always put your finger on what it is, that keeps you going while everything feels like it’s working against you,” she says.
The release has marked the beginning of an eventful 2020 for Fragile Animals, who recently opened the Noosa leg of The Drop Festival, and launched the single with their headline show at Maroochydore’s Solbar.
Only Until It’s Over was recorded and mixed by Dylan Adams and mastered by Andrew Edgson at Studio301.
