Brisbane artist Sunday returns with a new track iconic of his electronic style – a soothing blend of dreamy synths and floating vocals to create a euphoric dance song On a Wave, premiered via theMusic.com.au.
Inspired by the introspect of human connection and vulnerability, On a Wave is the first single released by Sunday from his upcoming EP expected to drop later this year. “‘On A Wave’ is a summer electronic song that floats through upbeat melodies and soft synths to paint a picture of positive connections and nostalgic thoughts of sun-kissed moments and optimistic fun“, explains Sunday.
Inspired by artists such as Peter Gabriel, Bjork, John Talabot and Nicolas Jaar, Sunday continues to explore new sounds and sonic landscapes through his explorative production techniques and vocal melodies. He goes onto explain: “I like to explore genuine emotions and create a place with sounds that can connect to a feeling”. His warm sound and vulnerable style have also previously grabbed the attention from industry tastemakers such as NYLON, Pilerats and Billboard.
Previously spending time in Berlin honing his craft, Sunday has also been seen performing at festivals such as Coachella, Primavera and Groove in The Moo, while supporting the likes of artists such as Empire Of The Sun, Crystal Fighters and Phoenix. His catalogue has amassed over 3 Million streams across Spotify, which includes his previous releases All Of The Time, Perfect Place and Only.
With an upcoming EP and live immersive show in the works, it is lining up to be an exciting start to 2020 for the artist.
On a Wave is OUT NOW.
