Electronic pop/soul singer/songwriter Cloe Terare delivers her soulful and reflective new track Easy and shares an intimate acoustic video.
Taking out the top prize at the QMusic Songwriting Retreat (formerly known as Amplify) with an entirely collaborative effort, Cloe co-wrote Easy with fellow electronic soul musician DVNA. The track explores the progression of feelings in a relationship – from those awkward first moments around someone new to feeling blissfully at ease. “It’s about being with people who you really connect with and realising connections shouldn’t be toxic or too painful.”
For Cloe, this track came organically, ‘We wrote it on the side of a big lake in the most beautiful rain forest area so whenever I sing it I picture myself there. It’s been produced a few times a few different ways but we decided it really sounds its most genuine and organic as the acoustic it was originally written as; so that’s how we are releasing it,’ she says.
Accompanying the release is a live-take studio session video of Easy recorded Heliport Studios featuring the guitar expertise of Sunshine Coast indie artist Dorah Jacson, its laid-back, raw energy perfectly conveying the tracks relaxed beginnings. Easy follows the success of Cloe’s debut single Take Me Home which reached #1 on the indigenous triple j Unearthed charts and #18 on the unearthed Top 100 charts.
With plenty of collaborations in the works, Cloe Terare shows no signs of slowing down.
Easy is available everywhere now.
