Since 2016, Melbourne rockers, The Dead Amigos have been blasting their bluesy, dirty, funky rock throughout Australia. Today they grace us with their latest offering, a new single full of passion and protest; Hold Out.
On this occasion, using their music to protest something they feel strongly about, The Dead Amigos new single addresses the struggle artists and bands face with sound restrictions, lock out laws and other hurdles enforced by local governments. Both the lyrics and the music reflect frustrations felt by all who are affected.
The song also features additional stunning vocals from Milly Moon from Melbourne’s alternative rockers, Winter Moon, making the song even more passion filled. With both Dead Amigos frontman, Max Shepard and Moon singing with aggression and commitment. The end result has you feeling the energy and drive behind the song on a deep level.
Along with the single, the guys have released a hot new video featuring the band rocking out and performing to crowds from a sunny rooftop.
Shepherd explains the meaning behind the track:
“In an age where guitar music is being told to turn down, Hold Out is the anthem of raising a middle finger to the establishment. It’s a song that ignites a fire in listeners trying to find their own voice. A song with a message to keep doing what you love, to just keep holding out.”
Hold Out was produced by the legendary Tyson Fish (The Living End, Dropkick Murphys, Bad//Dreems) and is available now via X-RAY Records / Golden Robot Records.
The Dead Amigos celebrate the release of Hold Out with a single launch show on September 27th at the Revolver Upstairs in Melbourne with support from BLEACH and The Winsomes. Plus, stay tuned for tour dates for an East Coast tour in October.
