Brisbane rock powerhouse, Torizon are ready to unleash their unique blend of groove, progressive and heavy rock upon the Australian heavy scene with the imminent release of their debut singles Falling and Shine On. Produced by Robb Torres (ex Trapt) and Capitol Records, the dynamic singles showcase the five-piece’s signature heavy rock sound that expertly interweaves raw and emotive melodies with heavy-hitting groove. Torizon have also announced their single launch show at The Brightside on July 27th where they will debut these tracks live.
Comprising members who are veterans of the Brisbane metal scene, Torizon are a band who are here to make a statement and are ready to take on the metal world. The band are already gaining renown for their atmospheric and energetic live performances that are delivered with a finesse far beyond their tenure.
This track represents the new musical direction for Torizon. Lyrically, Falling explores the vicious cycle of abuse and how victims can be empowered to break free and become survivors of abuse, as explained by vocalist Mish: “The lyrics are written from the point of view of a victim confronting their abuser. Abuse victims tend to lose their sense of self and fall for the same manipulative patterns because subconsciously they believe that they deserve such treatment. This song gives the victim an empowering position to take control and leave an abusive relationship – to stop falling for the trap that the abuser will change.”
The first track Torizon ever wrote, Shine On is a sentimental and important track to the band. Lyrically, Shine On focuses on overcoming trauma and never letting anything hold you back, as vocalist Mish explains: “I wrote the lyrics after coming out of an abusive relationship. After a few months of self-doubt, I woke up one day with an immense sense of empowerment, a strong desire to rebuild myself and to ‘Shine On’ no matter what! For the first time in years I had found myself again – I was happy, scared, grieving and excited all at the same time. I felt strongly about being honest in this song for others who may find themselves in a similar situation and have lost their sense of self and their self-worth. We have all felt like that at some point in our lives and it is possible to rebuild when you feel you’ve lost everything you ever knew. You are not alone, we all deserve security, love, happiness and to Shine On.”
Their official single launch show at The Brightside on July 27th is sure to be an immersive experience that you definitely don’t want to miss. Sharing the stage with Torizon are Failed Assimilation who draw influences from 90s Industrial, Industrial Rock/Metal, and Dark Electro. In the few short years together, Failed Assimilation have established themselves as staples of the Brisbane metal scene, having played alongside the likes of SNVFF, Amelia Arsenic, Replikant, END US and many more.
For The Wolves is a hard-hitting alternative rock outfit from Brisbane. Their unique brand of heavy alternative rock blended with ambient electronica allows the dynamic four-piece to deliver a gripping live show, conveying their art with power and passion.
