Dubbed “Brisbane’s new young king” by triple j Unearthed’s Dave Ruby Howe, up-and-coming rapper Khi’leb today returns with his most refined work to date – new single Stay Low, which premiered this week on Purple Sneakers.
Tonight, Khi’leb will celebrate the single release at The Brightside in Brisbane, as local support for Baker Boy on his ‘Cool As Hell’ tour.
“Oozing swagger and potential both. 2019 is gonna be a big year,”
– Tommy Faith, triple j Unearthed
“[Khi’leb] takes mannerisms from the dominative US hip-hop market and twists it into a uniquely Australia flavour, offering something refreshing,”
“Khi’leb‘s fast solidifying himself as a heavy-hitter in hip-hop,”
– Purple Sneakers
Produced by Mixtape Seoul and mixed and mastered by Khi’leb, Stay Low is a personal reminder to remain focused, motivated, and humble in the pursuit of success. “The single is about bettering yourself behind the scenes, and not always showcasing your growth and improvement,” Khi’leb explains.
The release follows the success of February single Anthem ft. Kiing Twiist, which landed B rotation on Sydney’s FBi radio, and scored adds to several high-profile Spotify playlists including The Drip, All Aussie Hip-Hop, and Beats n’ Bars.
Having kicked off the year with a performance at Brisbane’s Mountain Goat Valley Crawl, Khi’leb is quickly establishing himself as one to watch, and is set to grace many more stages in 2019 and beyond.
