Tennyson King is an international touring act from Canada having performed with notable Canadian acts such as Whitehorse, Sloan, Elliot Broode, and Blackie and The Rodeo Kings.
In 2017 Tennyson King embarked on his first Australian Tour which spanned for four months – highlights include performances at Yackandandah Folk Festival, MONA and Burke & Wills Festival and performances with Paul Dempsey, Paul Woseen (Screaming Jets), Yirrmal, and Brad Marr (Massive). He is currently finishing off another Australian tour and looking forward to ringing in 2018, followed by a tour in China in the New Year.
Tennyson’s style of rock and roll is infused with earthy roots and blues while subtly laced in psychedelic ear candy. It’s a raw, gritty, and organic sound that makes the soul feel wild and the heart comforted.
The self-titled Tennyson King EP, produced by Derek Downham (Serena Ryder, Kevin Drew) sees Chow’s inventive musical persona bringing together the emotional intensity and dark sweetness of the blues with compositional and production techniques that feature a lush, layered, psychedelic and 1970s rock sensibility, all wrapped up in contemporary, modern lustre that gives the music an appeal that transcends genre and demographics.
Don’t miss his headlining show at Currumbin Pub on Friday October 27, with support from local acts Alexander William, Frogs and Jade Soul. Doors from 8pm, $10 Entry.
