Toowoomba band Mercury Sun are touring throughout June and July to celebrate the release of their second EP ‘Generation Why?’. The indie rock quartet are excited to bring their sound back to the Gold Coast on June 16 at the Currumbin Pub.
They will be supported by local favourites Dogtags, The Wayward Suns and Dreams of Indigo. After spending much of 2016 in the studio writing and recording songs for their upcoming release the boys are eager to test their new tunes on fresh ears. The tour will be the first with their new look line-up featuring Harry Schneider on drums. ‘Generation Why?’ will be available on June 9 through iTunes, Spotify and CD.
Formed in late 2012 Mercury Sun’s sound has evolved out of the diversity of musical influences that exist within the band. Elements of blues and roots, punk, indie pop and classic rock can all be heard through the band’s music.
Mercury Sun’s live show has been the cornerstone of their short but productive career which has seen them play alongside some of the country’s best acts including Wolfmother, British India, The Grates, Trouble With Templeton and Closure in Moscow.
Mercury Sun plays the Currumbin Pub on 16th June with Dogtags, The Wayward Suns and Dreams of Indigo. https://www.facebook.com/events/1851729635152572/
