There is absolutely no question that Gold Coast band Eliza and The Delusionals are ones to watch as they continue to dominate the music industry with their single “Salt”.
Eliza and The Delusionals has to be one of the best artists coming out of the Gold Coast in recent years after becoming active in 2015. The exciting and captivating band, lead by powerhouse front woman Eliza Klatt, have been kicking goals with their latest single “Salt“, which was announced as a finalist for the Gold Coast Music Awards Song of the Year (Sponsored by NightQuarter) last week. “I feel really humbled to be included in an amazing group of songwriters“ Eliza said on becoming a finalist, “I wrote Salt about the way people change depending on who they’re around, I think this is a really interesting and relatable idea.”
Eliza and The Delusionals (also shortened to E & The D) are certainly no stranger to the accolades of the music industry, being Triple J Unearthed Featured Artist of the Week 2 weeks ago. Their song “Salt” has been played on both Triple J and Triple J Unearthed, been listened to over 800 times, downloaded over 400 times, and garnered glowing reviews from various radio presenters across their music programs.
Having toured Australia twice now for both singles “The Ground” and “Salt“ it makes sense that E & The D are now reaching out to a more global audience, announcing they’d be performing at Canadian Music Week in April. “This is a really big milestone for us as it’s our first time playing internationally, which is something we really wanted to do this year,“ said Eliza. Closer to home their next show is supporting Polish Club at Elsewhere on May 26th, a show that is not to be missed. We asked Eliza what we should expect of the bands live shows, telling us she “would describe our sound as a modern take on 90’s music, with a really big influence of modern indie rock. I love when I go and see a band and I can feel like a part of a whole experience rather than watching just a band play, so I really try to carry that through in our shows.”
With a month of excitement (and hopefully some victories) ahead Eliza and The Delusionals is a band that will no doubt become a household name in Australian music very soon. A winning combination of catchy singles, energetic live shows and the pinkest hair we’ve ever seen we won’t be surprised if we see this act playing some of Australia’s biggest festivals within the next 12 months.
