“And The Finalists Are…” Countdown to the 3rd Annual Gold Coast Music Awards

Samantha Morris from Blank GC Holding This Years Trophy

This morning’s finalist announcement at the QT Hotel in Surfers Paradise marks the countdown to the 3rd Annual Gold Coast Music Awards held on April 27th in Surfers Paradise. This year’s awards come with many new beginnings, with the move from Burleigh Brewing Co. to Surfers Paradise, and the addition of a new catergory, Album of the Year. This mornings announcement saw previous winners and this years finalist Hussy Hicks and Lane Harry x Ike Campbell perform.

In a new partnership with the Surfers Paradise Alliance the awards have moved, becoming the opening night of Surfers Paradise Live, an event that will draw several thousand people to the live and free public concert. The concert will kick off from 6pm headlined by local Gold Coast acts Amy Shark, Hanlon Brothers, Aquila Young and Yes Sir Noceur.

After over 130 entries were recieved for this year’s awards judges had a tough time deciding on finalists. It comes as no surprise that Amy Shark should make the pick in several catergories with her hit Adore. It’s also great to see new upcoming artists being recognised for their hardwork, including the likes of Eliza & The Delusionals, Jacob Lee and Athena Joy. This awards season also brings to attention the continually growing diversity of Gold Coast music and our love of live music.

The Gold Coast Music Awards continues to recognise the diverse talent of artists on the Gold Coast, with this years finalists a truly diverse group.
